Cornered

After the Venezuelan tyranny revealed itself, as expected, closing -for now- the electoral path of María Corina Machado (MCM), a multitude of representatives and "candidates" of the alacranato have appeared, well disposed to follow the electoral charade of the regime, indicating the "necessary substitution" of MCM because "she will be disqualified" for this year's elections.

Some of these specimens showed up yesterday at the illegitimate National Assembly of the regime, to meet with its President, Jorge Rodriguez, to define the schedule for the presidential elections (see La Patilla, These are the participants to the "national dialogue" to define the electoral proposal in https://gytlaw.awsve.com/2024/02/05/estos-son-los-participantes-al-dialogo-nacional-para-definir-propuesta-electoral-lista/). This process will be so irregular that not even Rodriguez pretended the charade of respecting the fact that this schedule was made by the CNE, the supposedly independent power in charge of organizing elections in Venezuela, which, as we all know, is the ministry of fraudulent elections of the Venezuelan regime.

And she could not do otherwise, because Rodriguez was not meeting with the so-called Plataforma Unitaria, representative of the official opposition, who stated through its main spokesman in the Barbados negotiations, Gerardo Blyde, that MCM was still the opposition candidate proposed by that political grouping, having been elected by the votes of Venezuelans in a primary. But Rodriguez disregarded this small detail and is making an electoral schedule without the official counterpart of the Barbados negotiation table.

This foolish tantrum to which the regime has accustomed us, is only an example of the intention they have to evade elections with the person they know it would be impossible to hide a defeat. That is why they have to stop MCM before the elections.

But this meeting with some characters that not even liquefied all together make a decent opposition candidacy in front of the country, beyond being a regrettable consequence of the decision of the regime to "disqualify" MCM, reveals a very serious reality, and one of the main reasons why we have not been able to get out of this gang of criminals that hold power in Venezuela: That there are still people and interests that still believe, in good or bad faith, that one must bend to a tyranny in order to be able to get out of it in the future, interpreting in another way the famous adeco mantra "bend so as not to break".

Even if the famous guests invited to Rodriguez's meeting do not represent anyone in Venezuela, they will continue to appear, but those others, willing to participate in any initiative of the tyranny to continue this hell. Thus, they will see messages such as those of Daniel Ceballos, former leader of the opposition resistance in Tachira, suggesting "primaries with qualified candidates" (see in Spanish @elgochoceballos, in  https://twitter.com/elgochoceballos/status/1754526572164358174), in a clear disregard for the decision made by the people on October 22nd. And they call themselves democrats! You have to have kidneys, not to say the right word, to propose that. Either he did not understand or they made him understand…

What we Venezuelans who wish to put an end to tyranny should be clear about is that if Superbigote is running away from MCM like kryptonite, it is because his candidacy is hurting him and will exterminate him by removing him from power (for the record, they gave him that name themselves and the extermination is in a figurative sense). Then, why do "solvers" to the supposed disqualification of MCM keep appearing? If we already have the necessary poison to put an end to the regime, anyone who proposes anything other than the unmovable candidacy of MCM, only wants the regime to be saved, there can be no other explanation to that, so we must reject it outright.

And even if the regime kicks the Barbados negotiations and avoids the elections, or even holds one without MCM, they will never obtain the so longed for international legitimacy they so much desire because they did not allow the free and fair participation of all the candidates, and especially that of the standard bearer of the opposition primaries. Therefore, they are cornered.

And being in that condition, they want to make MCM appear as a "coup plotter" and "conspirator" in assassination plans, in order to justify to the world their refusal to include her in the ballot. And no one buys their explanation, as well as the supposed "res judicata" of the illegitimate TSJ about her "disqualification". So Maduro is cornered.

The recent CATI Verdad Venezuela January 2024 survey by the most serious pollster in the country, Meganalisis, reports that Venezuelans, in the closed question of simple answer “For which of these candidates would you vote in the presidential elections of 2024”, clearly answered that 71.8% would vote for MCM, for Maduro 7.9% and for the rest a total of 1.9%. In other words, the sum of all the pseudo-opposition broken bats with which the regime wants to measure itself, previously deciding its opponents, having them less than 8%, to win the election, does not reach 2%.

This result corresponds to the answer to the question "What has socialism brought to Venezuela?", where 87.1% of the respondents answered: "Socialism has brought bad living, despair, family separation and poverty to Venezuelans" (see CATI Verdad Venezuela, January 2024, public results in https://twitter.com/Meganalisis/status/1754526219578519928).

Venezuelans have historically rejected socialism since long before Chávez appeared, which is why he lied shamelessly in front of the television cameras during the 1998 electoral campaign, repeatedly expressing in his interviews that he was not a socialist (see in Spanish, Jaime Bayly interviewing Chávez who said he was not a socialist in 1998, at https://youtu.be/6kMvAix6GtE?t=79).

It is understandable then that Maduro is cornered and intends to evade the majority judgment of Venezuelans in an election. But why do alternatives to the disqualification of MCM keep appearing? Because this situation has exposed that the regime's ship is sinking and the rats have to come out in the open in order to be safe, even if they are considered "democrats" by a part of the population. Here we are in a defining war between good and evil, and anyone you see looking for solutions to the regime, already knows that he was never a real opponent, and is after the failure of the will of 2.4 million Venezuelans who voted on October 22nd.

A cornered beast can do anything. But the fear of what it can do cannot be greater than the will to get out of it so that it will not continue to do harm. It is the steadfastness to hold on to that task that will ultimately give us victory. That is why the majority must stand firm behind MCM and support its decision to go to the end, no matter what happens, even if that end is not like the one we have imagined?
