Some unsuspecting readers may be confused with the famous "Ariadne's thread", which saved Theseus from getting out of the labyrinth of Crete where he defeated the Minotaur. Perhaps we can have some of that with this other thread, this time from Twitter, but not from Ariadne of Crete but from Adriana of Venezuela. In fact, we extract from Twitter a thread written by Dr. Adriana Vigilanza García in her account in that social network (see twit of @adrianavigi, in https://twitter.com/Adrianavigi/status/1591559653712072704):

As if the agenda of the cessation of usurpation was not endorsed by Venezuelans and as if the 7 million victims of the regime we don't exist either. I wanted to bring you the complete message of Adriana's thread precisely today when the official opposition celebrates with great fanfare the installation of the "Primary Commission" that will carry out the selection of a "unitary" candidate to face the regime in the next elections, either in 2024, 2023 or whenever the regime feels like it. All this charade against the will of the Venezuelan people in 2 Popular Consultations, and by those same political parties in Agreements of the same National Assembly of 2015.
Although the Politika UCAB article mentioned in Adriana's thread was written in 2017, being the political situation very different from now, it does not fail to draw attention to the correct request of the author insisting at that time that civil society assume the role that corresponds to it, to be, beyond the simple voter and voter, active advocate in its claim to the political sector to be considered as CITIZENSHIP, and not as a number on an electoral roll.
But the years that have passed have apparently diluted in time that statement, and the UCAB, now a firm promoter of this new "Primary Commission", apparently seeks as the protagonist of this new staging, that we are numbers of a flock for a new electoral slaughterhouse.
But civil society, since before 2017, has assumed that role, establishing a very clear mandate in the Popular Consultation of July 16, 2016, to reject the regime, ordering the politicians of the National Assembly to renew the Public Powers, including the Executive Power now illegitimately exercised by Nicolás Maduro Moros. However, the 2015 Assembly ignored that mandate, declaring the 2016 Popular Consultation non-binding, above the participatory and direct democracy character established in the Constitution, and agreeing on regional elections with Maduro in December 2017. A greater disregard to the popular will is impossible.
But today they are telling Venezuelans that this Consultation and the next one in 2020, which were the direct expression of the mandate of the Venezuelan people, are not valid, and that those Agreements that declared Nicolás Maduro Moros a criminal and usurper of the office of President of the Republic were a game (see in Spanish "ACCORD OF RATIFICATION OF THE DECISION OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO DECLARE THE ABANDONMENT OF NICOLÁS MADURO MOROS FROM HIS POSITION, AND ON HIS CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTS OF CORRUPTION LINKED TO THE ODEBRECHT COMPANY", in https://tinyurl.com/2p85z9yd).
They are telling us that it is good and valid to go to elections with a CNE appointed by a National Assembly declared illegitimate by Venezuelans in the Popular Consultation of 2020 and not recognized by the International Community. A CNE more than illegitimate, then. Let us "forget about that" because they are technicalities that we can overlook, because the parties "agreed" with Maduro. How about that?
Hence, the parties of this opposition, which at the very least cannot be described as anything other than a surrendered party, wipe the slate clean and present us Venezuelans with a brand new "Primary Commission" to start the game all over again, as if nothing had happened here, and that Maduro will respect as a criminal anything that comes out of those elections. Please! And to top it all, some individuals without any kind of representation of Venezuelans, go to Paris with our reals to convene with the presidents of France, Colombia and Argentina, to negotiate our future. What else can be said to Venezuelans to disqualify this whole set-up to perpetuate the regime?
But the most serious aspect of what was mentioned in Adriana's thread is that the International Community, starting with the USA, is absolutely worthless of this flawed procedure, ignoring everything that has happened in Venezuela, going towards recognizing the results of anything that comes out of this irritated electoral process that they are forging under these conditions against our sovereignty, and that they intend to impose on us.
I make the last words of Adriana's thread my own: "Nobody else will defend us but ourselves...". If Venezuelans swallow those lies, not only of that new opposition primaries setup, but of "presidential elections", we will deserve, not only that corrupt opposition but the regime they intend to maintain. The only defense that we can wield is our right to reject this filth that they are making us swallow by force, and that will only bring shame and misery to the next generations.
Let us declare ourselves in civil rebellion, leaving them alone in their primaries and in their "presidential elections", so that they understand once and for all that we are the depositaries of sovereignty, not mere numbers on an electoral roll and sheep ready for slaughter. If we do that, that thread of Adriana could be transformed into one of Ariadna, thus saving the people of Venezuela.
