For a new Declaration of Independence

It is not the first time that we insist that in Venezuela the national holidays have been militarized by most of the governments we have had in Venezuela. And since most of them have been military, it is not at all strange that a military connotation is given to this date, which is why Venezuelans must vindicate its especially civilian character, when freedom and democracy are rescued. (see in Spanish Presidents of Venezuela (1811-2012) a statistical-descriptive analysis, by José Gregorio Petit Primera, UCV-Revista Venezolana de Análisis de Coyuntura, abril 2015, in  https://www.redalyc.org/journal/364/36448449003/html/). Among these dates, the date of July 5, 1811 stands out, which I consider to be of the greatest importance, as it is the date that declares the Independence of Venezuela.

However, in the Venezuela of 2022, the celebration of the declaration of independence is no longer given the relevance it had in the past, which seems to me very consistent of a regime that has trampled on the values of freedom that this date represents for Venezuelans and those of us who believe that we must continue fighting for independence, but this time not from the Spanish empire, but from those who surrendered Venezuela -without firing a shot- to the Russian and Chinese empires, and their Iranian and Cuban associates.

And as we indeed indicated that the date July 5 has a historical military connotation in Venezuela, traditionally there is a military parade, presided over by the President of the Republic. However, on this occasion, Maduro was locked up in Miraflores and without presiding over the parade, he sent his recorded speech "prior to the military parade to commemorate the Independence Day this Tuesday, July 5, in the alleged "Santander curse" that would threaten the Chavista leadership of the FANB" (see in Spanish La Patilla, Maduro sent recorded speech and was locked up in Miraflores during the military parade of July 5, in https://flikt.bltlydns.com/2022/07/05/maduro-encerrado-en-miraflore/).

And this really caught my attention. Maduro, by hiding from a supposed threat he calls "Sandander's curse", only highlights the Manichaeism with which the Castro-Chavist-Madurist "robolution" has consistently distorted the history of both nations. I wish Venezuela had followed Santander's republican and civilist tradition after independence! Francisco de Paula Santander can be accused of having turned his back on the Liberator, but also on José Antonio Páez, both being the protagonists of the dissolution of Gran Colombia; but never of imposing militarism over civilism in his country. Santander, as the first President of the Republic of New Granada, is considered responsible for the first public education system in Colombia.

The formation of the first presidents we had in both Colombia and Venezuela was not comparable. That made the difference in the orientation of their governments after the separation of both countries in 1830. From there you can derive our eventful militaristic presidential history since that year, if you take a few minutes to read the statistical-descriptive analysis of Professor Petit Primera.

On the other hand, Colombia is considered the oldest democracy in Latin America (see in Spanish Why is Colombia said to have the oldest democracy in Latin America? https://www.colombia.co/marca-pais/politicas/por-que-se-dice-que-colombia-tiene-la-democracia-mas-antigua-de-america-latina/). The history of our nations cannot be hidden because it is part of our universal heritage, no matter how much Castro-Chavismo-Madurism wants to change our children's books and shout slogans to predispose two brotherly peoples.

If Maduro fears for his life and hides during the July 5 parade, it will not be because of a "Santander curse", but perhaps because of the betrayal of his associates in the multiple criminal businesses that his regime is carrying out, among them the dark business of drug trafficking. It is not difficult to imagine that Maduro is having difficulties with his associates to answer for the murder in Venezuela of Iván Márquez, who supposedly enjoyed the protection of his regime. Hence, "As soon as it was known that Márquez was dead, the Maduro regime started an internal hunt to ask for explanations for this fact and to find those responsible. For this reason, it launched an "alert" to its forces and began a series of false accusations against the Duque government about alleged attacks being planned in Colombia against him. Just a sophistry of distraction" (see in Spanish Semana.com, La muerte de Iván Márquez tiene "revoloteándo a Nicolás Maduro y a su régimen", at https://www.semana.com/nacion/articulo/atencion-la-muerte-de-ivan-marquez-tiene-revoloteando-a-nicolas-maduro-y-a-su-regimen-aqui-estan-los-detalles-secretos/202206/). The situation of the Maduro regime looks more and more like a movie of gangsters killing each other over a business deal. No wonder he is in hiding.

The reaffirmation that we have made from ANCO by calling "to fight for freedom by celebrating the Declaration of Independence of 1811". (see in Spanish Comunicado ANCO del 5 de julio, in https://ancoficial.blogspot.com/2022/07/comunicado-anco-anco-llama-luchar-por.html), is not a rhetorical matter. Venezuelans have regressed in the appreciation of the values of freedom that those who died for the Declaration of Independence bequeathed to us. It was a civil declaration that our liberators took seriously when they defended it with arms against the Spanish army. There were no trained Venezuelan soldiers here, except those sent by the few countries that supported us, such as the British Brigade of Daniel Florencio O'Leary. Those battles were fought by the peasants from the plains and from all regions of Venezuela, which makes them more worthy and deserving of the lasting memory of Venezuelans.

If Maduro and his regime have turned Venezuela this July 5, 2022 into a territory of criminals who dispute a business, hiding from their persecutors, we at ANCO in contrast, make "a new call for the liberation of Venezuela from the totalitarian ignominy, destroyer of the nation and its institutions, violator of our sovereignty and the human rights of Venezuelans", summoning Venezuelans to imitate the courage of the actions of our liberators to "achieve the freedom of our people, as well as to reaffirm the values of a Federal and Decentralized Republic, with autonomous States and Municipalities, as established by those who declared independence in 1811 and gave their lives for that dream". I am convinced that someday our descendants will celebrate this new declaration of profoundly civil liberty, as we now celebrate the one made by the 7 Provinces on July 5, 1811. We will continue to work to make that dream come true....
