Lifetime Assembly

It's a good thing Jorge Rodríguez said it, because if it had come from any of the opposition, he would have been considered a traitor to the cause for the liberation of Venezuela (see in Spanish, Maduradas, Jorge Rodríguez exige se investigue a diputados opositores 2015, in https://maduradas.com/jorge-rodriguez-exige-se-investigue-diputados-opositores-2015-nadie-eligio-dinorah-figuera-sea-diputada-eternamente-video/). According to the news, now it turns out that the president of the illegitimate National Assembly of 2020, calls the National Assembly of 2015 illegitimate. In Venezuela we say to that, cachicamo diciéndole al morrocoy conchudo.

Who is more illegitimate than the other? At this moment, that is impossible to determine because there is not a single court in Venezuela to take that case to, for reasons well known.

To any unsuspecting observer, anyone would say that the cries of the illegitimate president of the pro-government parliament, not recognized inside and outside the country, have a basis in reason that the deputies elected in December 2015 ceased their functions upon completion of their constitutional term and then a new Assembly was "elected" in December 2020 of which Rodriguez is president.

But it is necessary to get into the mire, not to say the right word, of Venezuelan politics in order to understand this situation that the illegitimate president of the National Assembly of 2020 is now denouncing, with a little more than 3 years of delay.

This is the last step for the definitive liquidation of an opposition that worked as toilet paper for the regime, when between them they agreed to eliminate the only legitimate representation of the country, by cutting off the head of Juan Guaidó Márquez, as President in Charge of the Republic (see This is not a Transitional Statute, in https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/p/this-is-not-transitional-statute.html). What did the 4 heads of the famous G4 parties think would happen after liquidating the only legitimate institution we had left, which was the basis of their own existence? Death in drops...

By killing the interim Presidency, without having the qualification for that, because its origin is still Constitutional, and not from its Statute for the Transition, they "self-suicided", as that famous former president would have said. And on the way, they took by the way the only thing that told foreign governments and other institutions that Venezuela had someone legitimate who was responsible for the affairs of our country. By disappearing the institution by our own hand, like Chacumbele, they forced everyone in the world to recognize in the same way, that what remained in charge in Venezuela were the illegitimate institutions, such as those led by Rodriguez. That regrettable decision contributed to a great extent to the loss of CITGO.

The justification for the very existence of the 2015 National Assembly was the institution of the interim Presidency. After there, death would inevitably come. But they insisted on maintaining their decision, so a representation of the workers, the Assembly of Venezuelan Workers, introduced an Amparo before the Legitimate TSJ demanding the Constitutional restitution of the Presidency-in-Charge (see Interim or legitimate representation? https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/p/interim-or-legitimate-representation.html). This protection was declared valid and disregarded by the National Assembly in 2015.

But do not think that the G4 is stupid and by eliminating the Presidency-in-Charge they would be left to wait for the inevitable. They decided to use the recognition -and the real ones- still granted to them by the US government as oxygen to survive, with the famous expedient, or excuse, of "defending Venezuelan assets abroad".

But this is no longer acceptable to Venezuelans. No one in this country with a salary or pension of 3 dollars per month can continue to accept deputies who pay themselves thousands of dollars in salaries, no matter how "legitimate" they claim to be, and, by the way, incapable of defending what they justified as "defense of Venezuelan assets abroad", CITGO being the most evident proof to the contrary. Personally, I prefer that the gringos keep those reals of the regime with which they are financing that "opposition", until there is a legitimate government in Venezuela, rather than continue to maintain the corruption of the opposition.

And the worst thing is not that. Any deputy in that situation would prefer that the regime never leaves so as to continue every year, extending the "legitimacy" of the 2015 National Assembly on account of that same excuse, without concrete results for Venezuelans, getting paid every month and every month. They will prefer to put any trick, because in the end they have no Comptroller's Office to stop them, and continue in a state of deputies of an Assembly for life. This, for ethical and moral reasons alone, is unacceptable and cannot continue to be tolerated.

At this point, some of you will say to me, "well, if there is no legitimate Assembly of 2015, what are we left with?" And my answer would be upfront: with the legitimate opposition representation that we elected on October 22, 2023, which will definitely take the bull by the horns and assume all the spaces left by the broken bats of the Assembly of 2015. And now my question to you: why hasn't he done it so far? Difficult answer that I will try to elucidate below.

María Corina Machado (MCM) was elected as the opposition candidate of the Unitary Platform (PU). In other words, in spite of the massive vote of the Venezuelan opposition on October 22, the so-called PU, a mockery of the old MUD and a sort of new snake skin that it permanently uses to continue to prosper in the opposition and its representation abroad, continues to be an obstacle for the full exercise of the decisions that are needed in Venezuela to get out of the regime. But that is precisely why MCM was elected.

What is preventing MCM from legitimately imposing herself as opposition leader at the negotiating table with the regime? Why does the regime insist on not recognizing MCM as part of the negotiation, as mockingly declared recently by Jorge Rodriguez, President of the illegitimate National Assembly of 2020 and at the same time head of the regime's negotiating group in Mexico and Barbados? (see in Spanish La Patilla, "Ni la conozco", Jorge Rodriguez denied that he has negotiated with MCM, in https://gytlaw.awsve.com/2024/01/05/ni-la-conozco-jorge-rodriguez-nego-que-haya-negociado-con-maria-corina-machado-video/). The only thing that could explain that is that MCM is endorsing the PU's negotiations with the regime as its elected representative, and that is doing tremendous damage to her own opposition position vis-à-vis the regime and the Venezuelans who elected her.

MCM is the opposition candidate of the Venezuelans NOT OF THE UNITARY PLATFORM because that is why we elected HER and not any of the candidates of their parties in the primary elections. That differentiated Javier Milei in Argentina from the rest of the candidates, by putting the political caste on the other side of the sidewalk for being directly responsible for the country's disaster, by associating with the regime. Venezuelans expect from MCM a political "take over" that we still do not see.

The next step of the regime now is to take away the floor from the official opposition with that statement of Rodriguez referring to the illegitimacy of the 2015 Assembly, with the direct intention of starting the year, destroying the base of support and financing of the official opposition that those elected deputies of the 2015 Assembly suppose, because this would be the same one that MCM would use for its electoral campaign this year that is starting. But MCM would be very wrong if it believes that by putting itself behind the MUD-PU and its parties, it will achieve more than with the democratic and libertarian vocation of the people who gave it their vote on October 22.

If the 2015 National Assembly intends to survive this attack by the regime, it must first of all amend many of the mistakes made that have done terrible harm to Venezuelans, starting with the restitution of the Constitutional figure of the Presidency-in-Charge, with all its constitutional prerogatives, something that was denied to Juan Guaidó Márquez, abiding by the ruling of the Legitimate TSJ in exile of April 11, 2023 and which they ignored olympically (see in Spanish Ruling of restitution of the President-in-Charge, TSJ in Exile of April 11, 2023, inhttps://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/2023/05/sentencia-de-restitucion-del-presidente.html). The new President-in-Charge should emerge from among the most valuable, moral, ethical and experienced of our opposition leadership in exile, with all its prerogatives and with the full backing of MCM as the undisputed leader of the Venezuelan opposition.

If they decide to turn their backs on that sentence, it will be preferable for them to end their life as deputies honorably lowering the banner to that opposition mockery because the regime will end up killing them (figuratively speaking, by the way), because no deputy is for life nor is the Assembly that gathers them, nor is the lifetime pretension of a regime that wants to rule us forever...
