There is nothing worse than the curse of those who, while dying, are still setting traps for those who defeated them or sent them to the grave, in a sort of posthumous revenge, as if from hell they were trying to influence the events in which they will no longer be protagonists.
Such is the case of the nonsense entitled "Procedure for the review of the disqualification measures agreed by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic", issued between the regime and its collaborationist opposition from a negotiation table in which Venezuelans are still unrepresented since the real opposition was elected on October 22, 2023, with a little more than 90% of the votes. The document was published by the Norwegian embassy in Mexico, as facilitator of the Venezuelan Dialogue and Negotiation, who confirmed there the negotiated procedure between the dying opposition and the regime of Nicolás Maduro Moros (see document at @NoruegaMexCA in https://twitter.com/NoruegaMexCA/status/1730392775198122298).
This document, cooked in the regime's pot with the ingredients of the opposition, fulfills four objectives: 1) to give an answer before the deadline, to the threat of the International Community to return sanctions to the regime if it did not lift the illegal disqualifications to Venezuelan opponents -read María Corina Machado (MCM)-; 2) to put MCM between a rock and a hard place of accepting the regime's terms, submitting her to a justice that depends on Miraflores; 3) to try to force MCM to rebel, which would leave the regime with the opportunity to argue before the world that it is MCM and not the criminals ruling the country, who does not want a peaceful solution to the political crisis; 4) to give the green light to those disqualified, favorable to the regime -i.e. Capriles- to remove their disqualification so that they can compete in the 2024 elections, in the comfort that they would accept "their defeat" against the regime.
What surprises me most about all this is not that the official opposition represented by Gerardo Blyde and the regime have cooked up this "solution" in a joint pot, but that more than a month after the primaries were held, Venezuelans are still waiting for the first steps taken by the leadership of the new opposition democratically elected on October 22 to, if not completely displace, at least place genuine representatives of the Venezuelan opposition at that "opposition" negotiating table that claims to represent us. We earned that on October 22 by voting for MCM. The least we expect is that from now on we start to see results.
Beyond the confidence that MCM said to have in Gerardo Blyde, it is clear, after the publication of such a "procedure", that position must change radically. In fact, MCM indicated that "he fully trusts Gerardo Blyde" (see in Spanish @polianalítica, in https://twitter.com/polianalitica/status/1720453928536420801), but this first step taken by the table after October 22 shows that in politics no one can be trusted.
The first question we must ask ourselves is whether the case of the illegal disqualifications of the regime, clearly of a political nature, can be solved by the TSJ of the regime. Is such a solution acceptable to Norway, who is the "guarantor" of such negotiation? Norway is not there to take part in the internal conflict of the Venezuelans, but as a mediator. But, if so, why is it the one publishing the procedure and not the parties in conflict? Is it a test to see what is the reaction of the Venezuelan body politic to this "negotiation"?
Whatever the answer may be, the very existence of that negotiation table is due to the fact that in Venezuela there is NO Rule of Law and even less a decent, fair and transparent system of liberties and judicial system for Venezuelans, and that it has a regime that keeps political prisoners and all kinds of abuses against the population, and that wishes to remain in power at all costs, without being counted electorally in a proper way. Otherwise, why would we have to look for an international negotiation table with mediators in the first place? How is it that the proposal of a negotiation to solve the disqualifications can be to go to the Venezuelan "justice", and even worse that the opposition accepts it? Or is it that we have all gone crazy in Venezuela?
The regime of Nicolás Maduro must lift the political disqualifications, not only because they are illegal, but also because it is the only way out of the political crisis that they themselves have caused. And if there is still anyone sensible in this regime of criminals, they should suggest to those who hold power in Venezuela to be counted so that the International Community can recognize them, if they really have the votes for that. And that is not naivety. Even the dictators of Venezuela's past decided to leave when they knew for sure that the people despised them.
But by insisting on staying they are just covering the only way out of a pressure cooker, which sooner or later will burst, and they will be its first victims. The stupid belief of a dying opposition that pretends with a posthumous revenge that it will solve its later emergence, negotiating with the regime even after death, will not solve the irreducible decision of a people that gave them a mortal blow on October 22. It was not MCM, it was a people who do not want to see them deciding their future. But they are not taking revenge on the MCM, but on us who do not trust them anymore.
The regime of Nicolás Maduro Moros has no legitimacy whatsoever, therefore, the International Community, which placed limits to its actions through its sanctions, must reject as invalid this procedure cooked up between those who do not represent us and an illegitimate regime, as all Venezuelans must reject it. Until there is an agreement signed with the real opposition elected on October 22, an agreement for the political disqualifications of the regime cannot be considered settled. Either you count or you count on the legitimate opposition, in fair, free and verifiable elections. The rest only represents a posthumous revenge of those who refuse to die with dignity.
