Machines at the service of the Venezuelan people

To simply say NO would be the easiest thing to do to the CNE's irruption. And the next move of the regime to take control of the political chess game of the primaries, consequently, is its TSJ. One does not have to be the chess Grand Master Boris Spaski to see that move in advance. There would be nothing left for the National Primary Commission (CNP) but to run or perch. This is a game that from the beginning the regime will win or win no matter what.

But María Corina Machado (MCM) did something that surprised everyone, including me. She went to the primaries and won the majority opposition support of Venezuelans, above all expectations. This made her more dangerous for the political status quo represented today by the regime and its shameless opposition, so it is absolutely indispensable for them to close her way, but without damaging the primaries, which would be very badly seen by the International Community (see my previous article, It's not the primaries, it's María Corina, in https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/p/its-not-primaries-its-maria-corina.html).

In other words, the only thing that MCM has to get the regime out of the game is the people. But not people to go out to the streets to put their chests to the regime's bullets with only a cardboard to defend themselves, but people to go out to vote massively to change this situation that affects us all. But that is precisely what those who are trying to stop it do not want. They want the people to be angry at the next outrage they are plotting, and then blame them for promoting violence, of which they are the sole culprits and instigators.

That is why the next step, or the answer to be given to this poisoned "offer" of the CNE has to be very carefully studied. The negative response is what they are waiting for to proceed.

What does the CNE need to set up its trap if it controls the primaries? Time. It needs time. Especially that which has to do with the preparation of the automated system they wish to impose, as opposed to the manual voting system they had already decided to use. The additional centers, the security, the presence of international correspondents and guests, are the bait for the core of the matter: the control of who wins and loses in the primaries, through the "safest electoral system in the world", as Tibisay Lucena baptized it. This is the real background of this supervening offer.

The use of the "fingerprint scanners" and all the technological paraphernalia around it is aimed at establishing who votes, incorporating the millions of people illegally injected year after year, to the Electoral Registry since almost 20 years ago -since 2004- when Jorge Rodriguez started with this system of counting votes, using the briefcase company SmartMatic with its lottery machines. A by-product of this use is the automatic update of the famous Maisanta List, with the incorporation of the opposition youth that is not on that list for obvious reasons.

Can the CNP refuse this poisoned morsel "offered" almost on oath? I don't think so, but it can try. And I am going to dare here to suggest a way to do it that could dismantle that plan. It is not some secret formula I just made up, but something I have been writing about for years: if machines exist, they should be auxiliary to the vote count, not the ones that count the votes. In other words, if the vote is with machines, the counting should be manual. Consequently, the NPC should require that 100% of the votes contained in the ballot boxes be opened and counted at the closing of each table so that witnesses from all parties can count all the receipts and compare them with the results of the machines.

As is generally known, the CNE's automated system contemplates a deceitful system of "audits" that replaced by law the manual scrutiny that had been carried out since the times of democracy. A little more than 10 years ago, I wrote a note referring to this technical detail, as follows:

"Instead of carrying out an AUTHENTIC process of counting each and every one of the votes of Venezuelans, as we did in the past, now we have a statistical process, of machines to which we are entrusting the destiny of the country. And the machines say what the operator wants them to say. And we do not manage the machines of the CNE, which by the way is biased in favor of one of the contending options.

Since approximately 46% of the boxes remain unopened, according to this statistical file, how can a witness place his signature on a certificate to validate votes he has not seen? How can he attest and attest that what is in that unaudited box was what the CNE machine printed and transmitted for its final count? That did not happen before, guys of the new generations. No matter how many prior audits of machines the CNE may perform, anything can happen to a machine of which even the minimum technical specifications are unknown, from the time it was originally programmed with the opposition witnesses, until its delivery to the polling stations. You cannot trust an organization that now does not allow you to see 100% of the boxes" (see in Spanish 100% of the Boxes, at https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/2012/09/100-de-las-cajas.html).

If this primary process is really owned by the opposition, the opposition can perfectly well put that condition to the CNE without affecting the rigged programming they may implement for that primary election. And if the pre-candidates have the witnesses they claim to have, they should have no problem with that condition. As I suggest in that note, they would open "100% of the boxes and count one by one, in front of the voters, all the boxes with the votes. The witnesses put their signatures when they check that indeed the votes coincide with the result of the machines and THEN the results are transmitted and the table is closed".

But we could ask for an additional candy such as the one suggested: "to make public the Acts in the web site of the organism as they arrive and all of them are added up as the tables close all over the country".

In that way, anyone could take the CNE data of each closed table and verify it with the reality of the Acts signed by the witnesses -because they would be public at the closing- and add them up each one on their own, because we all know how to add them up. "At the closing of the last table in the country, all Venezuelans would know for sure who won the election at whatever time it was closed". And as he said back then and still says today: "No more waiting for the President of the CNE, no more "First Bulletin", no more Totalization Rooms for a few, no more covered rooster, no more machines at the service of the CNE but at the service of the Venezuelan people".

It is not so complicated to discover the regime in its misdeeds, if it is the people who count their votes, without anyone's interference. And that is what has happened so far with an electoral body at the service of the regime. This same procedure may be demanded in 2024 in the conditions to go to the presidential elections. If the regime refuses before the whole world, we will have ascertained that the machines are poisoned. Then, if we have to use machines, let them be at the service of the Venezuelan people.
