There are many people from the regime and its complacent opposition who have not yet digested well what happened on Sunday, October 22. But there are also a lot of people from the true opposition side who have not yet come out of the triumphal drunkenness, and if unfortunately they do not control the hangover that comes afterwards, they will end up being worse than the opposition that was displaced by the people to give the political leadership to María Corina Machado (MCM).
I say the above because those who first have to learn from mistakes are the opposition. Remember when euphoric on January 23, 2019, the opposition Venezuela closed ranks behind a President-in-Charge, who recited a mantra that promised the trilogy Cessation of Usurpation, Transitional Government and Free Elections? That President-in-Charge was a hope that turned out to be a failure. Let's not make a mistake again! Last Sunday, the noble Venezuelan people handed over the political leadership to MCM, not to her party Vente, not even to the parties or organizations that supported her, a clear mandate to oust the regime from power.
As of Sunday, October 22, 2023, MCM ceased to be the pre-candidate of a sector of the opposition to become the leader of the entire political opposition against the regime of Nicolás Maduro Moros with OUR VOTES behind her.
The official opposition represented by the G4,and all those who were elected deputies in December 2015, misinterpreted that fundamental principle: the votes did not belong to them, but to all of us, Venezuelans, who delegated our sovereignty for a purpose to which the elected is owed as in a religious mandate. Just as at that moment in 2015, at this moment the Venezuelan people turned to give him an INDISCUTIBLE mandate of more than 90%, of more than 2.3 million votes, according to the last official bulletin of the National Primary Commission (see in Spanish Last bulletin of results of the primary election, in https://twitter.com/cnprimariave/status/1717028044030816498).
There can be no mistake on the part of the mandatary of this mandate, which was given by us, the constituents. It sounds like a play on words, but it is not. And that mandate is non-transferable and personal. Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez will go down in history as the puppet of the parties that controlled him not to fulfill that mandate that the people entrusted him in a constitutional manner, to fulfill the trilogy as President-in-Charge in a constitutional manner. He will never be able to blame anyone for not having complied, not even the parties that supported him. He could have stood up and complied and he did not, because he was the ONLY one responsible, no one else. That is how serious this matter is.
MCM now has a more serious and clearer mandate than Guaidó had because he was endorsed with the votes of Venezuelan opponents, so she should have no reason to make a mistake. But she cannot do this alone. To fulfill that mandate she has at her disposal the unconditional help of all of us who wish to get out of this nightmare as soon as possible, inside and outside the country, to achieve democracy and freedom for Venezuela. The future of our children and the reunification of the Venezuelan family in peace are at stake here.
Unlike the previous campaigns of the official opposition, MCM will not count on the help of the political parties to get out of Maduro's regime, even if their main spokespersons express it from the mouth out, because they are -and continue to be- his accomplices in the destruction of the country. I do not have to prove that here, they said it themselves. The day before, on October 21, Manuel Rosales ordered the Secretaries and Mayors of UNT "Not to participate in the primaries" (see in Spanish Versión Final Newspaper, in https://soynuevaprensadigital.com/npd/rosales-ordena-a-secretarios-y-alcaldes-de-unt-no-participaremos-en-las-primarias/), It is very possible that we will see him as a candidate, against the majority, in the 2024 elections, with the approval of the regime.
However, for what that and all the people of the MUD-G4 represent, it is not something that the real opposition Venezuela should be worried about. The most important thing to highlight here is that since there is no organized partisan support to the possibility of MCM becoming President, the organization of what will happen from now on to the Venezuela that truly wishes to get out of the regime by electoral means, will be historically monumental.
Multiple civil society organizations, parties, individuals, social media influencers, anyone who wants to get out of the regime, will have to coordinate from now on inside and outside Venezuela, not only for the electoral act itself in 2024, but also to engage in a combined strategy to achieve the participation of MCM in that election that the regime rejects as "disqualified". Much of that pressure will come not only from the policies of the International Community based on the respect to the Agreements signed in Barbados, but also from the same people who voted for her in the primaries of October 22.
There will be a shortage of money for that political campaign because the regime will be busy choking the little that comes in for that. We will have to contribute what we can in actions as an investment for the future. It will require hundreds of witnesses, logistical support, mobilization in a Venezuela without gasoline, people reporting on their own account on their cell phones and Instagram, X(Twitter), WhatsApp and other social networks accounts, that campaign that will be vetoed in all media. From now on, there is no single party that will vomit the regime as a spoiled food we consumed in 1998, we will have to do it all Venezuelans together in 2024, working for that from now on.
Consequently, those who will expel Maduro will be all of us Venezuelans, under the orchestrated coordination of a single campaign command led inside and outside the country by MCM. That is the only way. In all the pleiad of hardened political leaders of democracy who have expressed their support to MCM there are honorable people who know how to organize and put into operation a strong and winning campaign command, because they did it successfully in the past, and the only thing we need is to have the humility to recognize that and ask them without sectarianism. That would be a certain sign that we are moving in the right direction, very far from what the Government in Charge of Juan Guaidó turned out to be. Again, the same mistakes cannot be made again, disappointing the clear mandate that the people expressed on October 22. We have to start working on this with no time to lose....
