A poorly thought-out election

As the date for the period for the nomination of candidates FIXED BY THE REGIME (note that I emphasize this) in the CNE approaches, the opinions of any nailed bug that has ever expressed an opinion and others that have never done so, about the "need" for María Corina Machado (MCM) to designate a "substitute" for her candidacy for elections in which that same regime that we intend to change by electoral means, has decided each and every one of the parts of that process, are accentuated. Doesn't this seem to you to be even more contrary to logic and common sense?

Some criminals who have unilaterally determined the terrain and the conditions where the contest is going to take place, do you not think that they can also decide, whoever wins other than them -if he/she "wins"-, that he/she will not be recognized? We are again in an upside down world (see in Spanish note I published more than 10 years ago in response to another similar nonsense of the so called "opposition", in https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/2013/07/nicolas-el-mundo-al-reves.html).

Let me get this straight: having the regime violated every possible electoral institutionality, trampled on an electoral agreement with international witnesses and guarantors at a negotiating table in Barbados, starting with the date of the elections, the rest of the political actors, ACCEPTING THAT, demand that the opposition candidate that the people elected "bend over backwards so as not to split", and designate a "substitute" to put them on an aircraft carrier so as "not to lose the opportunity" that the criminals give us to get out of themselves? What kind of a nutcase is that!!?

In all honesty, if it can be said that the opposition has ever hit bottom against tyranny, it is definitely now. And yet they think they would hand over power "peacefully and electorally" to whoever, knowing that it is public, notorious and communicational that they do not want to measure themselves with the true opposition representation of the Venezuelan people? If that is precisely what they expect us to believe! In what halfway decent opposition analysis can it fit that we follow the electoral game to these criminals hoping to win? That could only come from someone colluding with the continuity of a tyranny in power, regardless of name, position, or supposed opposition seriousness.

At this point, someone will jump up and say: What can we do then? The first thing is not to play the electoral game with the regime if it does not submit to an agreement with the opposition and especially with the person who was the standard bearer of the opposition representation in the primary elections. That if there is any election in Venezuela that must be duly recognized by the world, it must go through an agreement among all participants, including the regime. Otherwise, the elections are simply invalid as a means to solve the political crisis of the country. Period.

And someone else will jump up and ask: And then what should we do with these elections on the Galactic's birthday? I leave it up to you. Ask yourself what you do when something in your house is rotten. Exactly, you throw it away. What you can't do is accept it by taxation knowing that because you will end up sick. We already did some of that with the referendum of the Esquibo, that same one, the one of the "10 million votes". To go or not to go will be worth the same, because the regime already has those same 10 million in the conjurer's hat, which were counted when nobody went out to the streets to vote. But the official opposition of the Unitary Platform does not want to do that. It wants MCM to put its "Norven" brand on them for the regime to legitimize those elections before the International Community, which is precisely what they would achieve if MCM agrees to appoint a substitute-prostitute, because that is the name given to whoever sells his body for whatever reason.

Then, from this point of this electoral event, invalid for being illegitimate, what would be left for the true leadership, representative of the Venezuelan opposition sentiment, to do? Clearly, not to continue in this charade of the regime, unless the true representation of the opposition can be counted on, and if not, to disregard the fact as a whole. In other words, it is not the hens chasing the foxes. It is the regime that must run, not the other way around. It is not the world upside down. It is not telling the people to abstain, it is telling the world to reject and ignore elections called by someone who has no legitimacy to call them without the presence of all the factors that precisely make it legitimate.

In a recent published article, my esteemed professor Asdrubal Aguiar asked himself a question that perhaps should be asked by all those who believe they have an answer for Venezuelans in those elections that the regime has fabricated for July 28: "...it is worth asking whether it will be possible - with the sole exit of the dictatorship and the eventual holding of elections that are simulated for the time being, by pretending to exclude María Corina Machado from them - to reassemble a country in diaspora inwardly and that, against the grain of its history has had to emigrate for the first time, dispersing itself in the world" (see in Spanish Asdrúbal Aguiar, Letter from a Venezuelan (I), 10-03-2024, in https://runrun.es/opinion/522146/carta-de-un-venezolano-asdrubal-aguiar/).

My own answer to that question is a resounding NO. An election, let alone one called without the legitimate representation of the Venezuelan opposition people, will not make it possible to reassemble this broken country, which will continue like this until a true unification that will only be possible when we all meet again in our affinities and differences. Certainly, a legitimate election with the MCM present would crush the regime as the minority that they are, but it would be necessary to rebuild the base that the regime broke since Chávez, by separating us as brothers in the same land. This can only be done by a unifying Constituent process "after the forging of a "conscience of the nation" as a state of the spirit and to reestablish itself and rationally discern its authentic superior and founding values to assure its governability", as mentioned by Dr. Aguiar in his article.

This can only be done if we are all aware of what is right and what is wrong. And these elections of July 28 are wrong, and beyond that, because of all the above, they are wrong, whichever way the political leadership of the official opposition wants to put them or justify them to the Venezuelan people, precisely to save the neck of the regime that called them. Let's hope that everyone can see it as well...
