Electoral collective madness

I can only attribute it to a collective madness that has once again trapped the population into returning to the first square, believing that the solution for Venezuelans lies in an election with Nicolás Maduro Moros controlling the vote counting machines. Much of this is to be attributed to the opposition scorpion that went to meet with the U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela based in Bogota.

Without pretending to be a sociologist or social psychologist, I prefer to quote my remembered friend of battles, Dr. Rosa Maria Zulueta, with all her credentials as a social psychologist and specialist of many years in this area. (see in Spanish, Rosa María Zulueta, ciudadana integral, in https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/2017/03/rosa-maria-zulueta-ciudadana-integral.html), when she got tired of saying, without being heard and until she died, that Venezuelans were psychologically ill as a result of a deliberate strategy of the regime to apply "violent speeches, intolerance, blackmail and manipulation, deception and rebound of guilt, human rights violations, political discrimination, inefficiency, corruption and poverty". And that this discourse provoked in the population "breakdowns of logic (dissonance), hopelessness, helplessness, uncertainty, frustration, resentment, toxic rage, paranoia and reactivity".  And to break this vicious circle, it was essential to find out that this was being deliberately and permanently applied to them and to act accordingly, "putting an end to fear and false or limiting beliefs", as Dr. Zulueta rightly prescribed.

So, the first thing we Venezuelans had to do was to start separating what is real from what is not, even if that meant putting aside things we believed to be true when they never were, starting with the false belief that the official opposition wants to get out of this regime as much as we do, making it an accomplice of the regime with a flawed electoral system. That step to recover our collective sanity is decisive to get rid of the criminals and their accomplices who still control power in Venezuela! And that collective madness makes us bear in a passive way what no one in the world would accept in similar circumstances. We must start there, healing behaviors in order to move forward.

And why do I mention the term "collective madness"? Because we seem to have forgotten that last December, Venezuelans put a constitutional straitjacket on whoever would think of calling elections in Venezuela, when we demanded, by a majority, the end of the usurpation of Nicolás Maduro Moros before being able to hold free, fair and verifiable elections. And that mandate is still in force. Or it could be that the opposition mass media makes the world believe that this is what Venezuelans want, giving the impression that we have all gone crazy here. We Venezuelans, one by one, have already pronounced ourselves in favor of Maduro's immediate departure. Period.

The enemies of the Popular Consultation, those in the so-called opposition who sabotaged it and who still pretend to disregard its results, are disrespecting the will of the people by trying to run roughshod over more than 6.4 million wills, by trying to convince us to go to an electoral process with Maduro still controlling the machines to count the votes. And the most surprising thing is that they are still doing it with the worn out argument that since we are the majority we will "crush" a regime that at every opportunity has ignored the will of the Venezuelan people because it controls the arms of the Republic and an armed wing of irregulars. If you do not believe it, ask the people of Tachira who really governs in Táchira, if it is Freddy Bernal or the Adeca who knelt down to be given a post that was useless. Or ask Andres Velasquez if they gave him the Governorship of Bolivar even though he had the minutes in his hand. Or if they gave the governorship of Zulia to Juan Pablo Guanipa for deciding not to be sworn in before the illegitimate Constituent Assembly of Maduro.

It is possible that Venezuelans do not remember those episodes because of the collective madness that the so-called G4 opposition is trying to impose. But unfortunately that is not the most serious thing that could happen to us. The most serious thing is that by joining the electoral troupe of this pair of enemies of Venezuelans, the regime and its opposition, Venezuela would enter into a sort of soporific that would last the remainder of 2021, like all electoral troupes in Venezuela, giving the regime enough time to finish dismantling what is left of the country's institutionality, not to mention deepening the economic destruction of Venezuelans.

It could even happen that by the time of such election, any Governorate, Mayor's Office, Legislative Council could be dismantled and without any power whatsoever -as what is happening in practice in Táchira- due to any change that this Constituent Assembly that has not yet been eliminated may put into operation, or any castrating legislation approved by the illegal National Assembly of December 6. For example, they could legalize the figure of the protector of Táchira for all the Governorships and Mayorships, and invent any other similar thing for the Legislative Assemblies.

Venezuelans have not yet come to terms with the fact that political parties live on elections. That way they can maintain their party base. And in these times of super-hyperinflation the only one who has enough money for that is the regime. I can imagine the narco-regime buying with full hands and with drug trafficking dollars those parties, from the biggest to the smallest. Will we Venezuelans allow that? Will we continue believing that elections in worse or equal conditions than the previous ones, without Maduro being out of power, can serve to improve the conditions of Venezuelans and something else than giving more time to the regime in Miraflores and at the same time financing those partisan figures of the official opposition that have done so much damage to us? Just think about it...

It made me nauseous to see the names of those in that infamous opposition who went to meet with the U.S. ambassador to practically "ask his permission" to make that deal with Maduro. Shame on each and every one of those so-called opponents, let alone those so-called representatives of the civil society, for going to ask for elections when the majority of the Venezuelan people's opposition has already given a very clear mandate against Maduro in December. THEY NO LONGER REPRESENT US. They stopped representing the Venezuelan people a long time ago and the Americans know that. I have the greatest hope that the President-in-Charge will definitively dissociate himself from that and accompany the civil society that already gave its verdict in December in the Popular Consultation, a consultation that he endorsed and continues to endorse. Hence, it is completely absurd to even discuss this when the President-in-Office called for a debate on the participation in the regional elections (see in Spanish El Nacional, Sectores de la oposición debatirán a petición de Guaidó la participación en las regionales, en https://www.elnacional.com/venezuela/sectores-de-la-oposicion-debatiran-a-peticion-de-guaido-la-participacion-en-las-regionales/).

We must put an end to fear and false beliefs, as Dr. Rosa Maria Zulueta left us as a legacy. We must overcome this collective madness and come to our senses because this is not the way out of this tragedy. In a way, Pope John Paul II also said to Venezuelans before, and with his own words: "Do not be afraid...". It remains for Venezuelans to assume the strong commitment to continue fighting for our freedom from the space of each one of us to dislodge the Maduro regime as established by the mandate of the Popular Consultation. ANCO and those who accompany us in the Venezuelan civil society have already initiated this with the Pact for the Constitutional Reestablishment. (see in Spanish Pacto para el Restablecimiento Constitucional, in https://ancoficial.blogspot.com/2021/02/comunicado-anco-acta-que-contiene-el.html). If we all do it together, we will not give the regime any more breathing space until it drowns. If the opposition parties that no longer represent anyone, all of them turned into scorpions, still insist on this electoral madness because they need money and business with the regime, they will be left alone in these elections and will end up disappearing. God knows what he does...
