For those who still had doubts about the inconvenience for Venezuela of the deal signed by the pseudo-opposition with the regime in the Second Mexico Agreement, just look at the statements made by Maduro and Rodriguez, indicating who will finally manage and in what the funds that helped them to unlock in the U.S. will be "invested", and of course who will benefit politically (see in Spanish Sanction-free elections, in https://ultimasnoticias.substack.com/p/elecciones-libres-de-sanciones).
Indeed, the pro-government portal reports: "There grabbed the microphone Jorge Rodriguez, the head of the Government delegation in the dialogue, and clarified that the money to be unfrozen, under the figure of a special United Nations fund, will be administered by the Venezuelan State...".... "What is certain is that all the administration of these funds will be based on the laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on the Constitution, and the governing bodies will be the Ministry of People's Power for Health, the Ministry of People's Power for Electricity, and the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations and Justice, which are the ones that have carried out this plan with their technicians". And I ask myself, did the opposition signatories not know this before signing this plan? There was no political naivety there, because there is no such thing as naivety in politics. What existed there was complicity, with a horrible stench of corruption, in any of its manifestations.
It was not very difficult to foresee that situation, despite having placed the UN as an excuse of "transparency" in the eyes of Venezuelans. But who cares about that? Certainly not to the US, who managed to sit the regime down to "negotiate", so that its Treasury Department, with only that act of Mexico, would allow Chevron's oil negotiations with the regime to move forward.
Some will say that Venezuelans "win" because the regime will supposedly put that money into education, health, electricity generation and attention to the victims of the tragedies caused by the recent rains, which by the way were also the product of the destruction caused by the corruption of the regime. But if we compare the pittance represented by the amount released in relation to what has been stolen from the country, we will notice that little or nothing will happen that we have not seen before when the amounts were extraordinarily higher.
We will
see again the contracts for the execution of those "works" and the
contracting of supplies with the Ministries pointed out by Rodriguez, of
intermediaries of the regime, and the well-known commissions of 40% and 50%
-and in many cases even more- that will turn those 2,700, 3,000 or 5,000
million dollars into salt and water, without having solved the structural
problem of having a narco-terrorist mafia in control of the Venezuelan State.
And we will be back to square one again when those reais are gone without
solving anything for Venezuelans.
So what was the point of all that circus? It was useful for Maduro and his mafia to remain in power longer and with more money than before. We will put that to the credit of the political opposition. But, until when?
In my opinion, the most important part of the statement made by the usurper mafia in its celebration of the signing of this mess with the official opposition was the threat that this whole process, which we know is a parody of the regime to remain in power, will not end in free, fair and transparent elections, as requested on its knees by the surrendered opposition, because Maduro wants it all: "Free, fair and transparent elections, do they want? Elections free of sanctions, of unilateral coercive measures. Let them all be removed, let them all be taken away".
Will the International Community be able to lift ALL sanctions against Maduro so that elections can take place with them in power? Because that is what the regime will ask for, not including the presence of the criminal Alex Saab at the negotiating table. My opinion is that they will give it to them, because that is the only way to finish unblocking the oil contracts, not only with Chevron but also with the rest of the European, Chinese and Russian oil companies. Venezuela's problem is geopolitical, with a high oil component. The governments of foreign countries care very little if Venezuelans go hungry or if we are persecuted, tortured or murdered by a regime that castrates freedoms. They leave that for the speeches. They only care if what happens here affects them or not. And it is affecting them, and very much so. And that is why they are looking for a semblance of political stability in Venezuela. And us Venezuelans? Well screwed, thank you.
I have always believed, even before mental health professionals said so publicly, that your future does not depend on what they do to you, but on how you react to what they do to you. We can get upset and blame - and rightly so - the official opposition and the regime for our misfortunes. But it will only be us -each one of us- who, by reacting to that, will define the future. The decision we make in response to what is presented to us by those who claim to represent us, who up to now are responsible for that miserable agreement that in the net screws the regime in its position of power, will define the future of Venezuela. If we decide to let that pass we will be as responsible as they are.
In its latest communiqué, ANCO once again points out to the opposition the existence of the route of the Refoundation and Reconstruction of the Nation through a Constituent process, without the CNE's control, and the inclusion of the Civil Society and our organization, as well as other countries friendly to Venezuela, in these negotiations. This demand is not new and has been persistently ignored, therefore ANCO "calls on Venezuelans to protest this new betrayal to the homeland, by not attending or endorsing any electoral activity promoted by this opposition, as long as there are no conditions to participate in a free, reliable, auditable and transparent process, with voting and Manual Scrutiny" (see in Spanish ANCO statement on the signing of the so-called Second Partial Agreement for the Social Protection of the Venezuelan People, in https://ancoficial.blogspot.com/2022/11/comunicado-anco-pronunciamiento-de-anco.html).
The only way for the political parties of this negotiating opposition, who staged this circus with the narco-regime of Nicolás Maduro Moros, in their suicidal persistence to negotiate the non-negotiable, to understand that Venezuelans must be heard and not ignored in their inalienable decision to be free FIRST before even thinking about elections with criminals, is to DEMAND our right to vote in freedom, without the intermediation of powers corrupted by the regime. This is non-negotiable. And hence the original sin of accepting that a terrorist regime calls itself the "Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela".
We call -once again- for an Indefinite Electoral Strike, whose initial proposal was made exactly 4 years ago by a group of Venezuelans (see Indefinite Electoral Strike, in https://ticsddhh.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_88.html) calling for civil resistance to abstain electorally, and on this occasion INCLUDING THEIR PRIMARIES, until our proposals are heard, and the Venezuelan people are called to a Constituent election with the electoral administration of the International Community.
At that time, he said: "If those who should represent us decide to turn their backs on legitimate institutions, it will be up to the citizens to come out directly in their defense, as we are doing now with this initiative. We have the obligation to exercise our right to direct political participation. Things with the regime and its opposition have worsened dramatically since 2018, which makes this proposal more valid than ever, and even more so, after seeing the clear evidence of this opposition betrayal with the signing of an agreement that harms us, there is no longer any other way.....
